He recorded my friend's band for free. What a nice guy he turned out to be.

The 2001 & 2002 platters from a riff savvy, L.A. indie rock combo who just might remind you of Superdrag.

You had me at "Superdrag". They are one of my favorite bands of all time. (They just celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of "Head Trip In Every Key" on Facebook last week.)

I just previewed a few seconds of a song from the 2002 disc... and it's perfect. Can't wait to give this all a spin. Thanks!

The 2002 Arlo STAB album is a real winner. Its predecessor, UP HIGH IN THE NIGHT, is less so. I only came across ARLO within the past year, and I even played STAB during periodontal work today (Tuesday). My periodontist asked me what I was listening to, and I told him, "Arlo, the band, and NOT Arlo, the Guthrie."

Two other bands Arlo sounds sort-of like are the Canadian band, Smoother (whose CHASING THE DRAGON album is a BEST-OF 2001 release, and an all-time favorite of mine) and a bit like the great Drivin' N' Cryin', only with far fewer apostrophes.
